Salem criminal defense lawyer Matthew J. Pollard graduated from Salem High School located in Salem, Virginia in 1995. He completed his undergraduate collegiate studies at Appalachian State University located in Boone, North Carolina, graduating with a B.S. in Political Science in 1999. Mr. Pollard continued his studies at the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law located in Richmond, Virginia, graduating with the degree of Juris Doctor in 2003.
After being admitted to the Virginia State Bar the next year, Mr. Pollard worked in the Office of the Public Defender for the City of Roanoke, Virginia for 3 years, successfully defending members of the general public who could not afford legal counsel. Mr. Pollard was hired as the Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Salem, Virginia, where he worked as a prosecutor for 5 years. In 2013, Mr. Pollard went into private practice at the law offices of Harry F. Bosen, Jr., P.C. Today Mr. Pollard focuses on criminal defense, traffic, civil, and domestic relations cases.
